Dr. El Chaar is currently a Clinical Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. He is a former Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry and former Director of Advanced Education Program in Periodontics at New York University College of Dentistry. Former Director and Founder of the Advanced Education Program in Periodontics at Lutheran Medical Center. He has a thriving private practice in New York City that specializes in dental implants and periodontal disease. He is the founder of EEC Institute, a continuing education and research institution focused on the advancement of clinical periodontics and implant dentistry. He is a retired Major in the US Army. He travels several times a year to lecture internationally and domestically and has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and authored several chapters in published books.
Dr. El Chaar completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, his post-graduate education in Advanced Periodontics and Dental Implants, and earned a Master’s degree in Oral Biology all from New York University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. Member and Fellow of International Team for Implantology (ITI) and serves on the education committee, and Member of the American Academy of Periodontology and Academy of Osseointegration.

Dr. Anamaria Castillo earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduating with the highest honors. She was recognized for her exceptional clinical and academic achievements and was the recipient of the prestigious Dean’s Award for Exemplary Patient Care.
Dr. Castillo pursued her specialty education in Periodontics and Implant Surgery and completed her Master of Science in Oral Biology and Pathology at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine. She conducted clinical research for Colgate-Palmolive, where she explored the effects of chronobiology on various oral health parameters, earning the Sreebny Resident Research Award. Throughout her years of training, she gained extensive experience in both reconstructive and aesthetic periodontal procedures.
Dr. Castillo is a board-certified periodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She currently serves on the board for the Northeastern Society of Periodontists and is a Fellow of the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics. Additionally, she maintains memberships in several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology, the International Team for Implantology, the Straumann Women’s Implantology Network, the International Society of Periodontal Plastic Surgery, and the New York County Dental Society.
Dr. Castillo is dedicated to patient education, emphasizing the important relationship between periodontal disease and one’s overall systemic health. She advocates for collaborative care and integrates both personalized and precision medicine into her treatment plan development. Offering a comprehensive range of surgical and non-surgical periodontal therapies, Dr. Castillo focuses on delivering patient-centered care through a minimally invasive, compassionate approach.
Dr. Vitaliya Sobol is a board-eligible endodontist known for her calm, gentle, and compassionate approach to patient care. She believes every patient deserves to feel comfortable, informed, and at ease from the moment they walk through the door.
Dr. Sobol earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from NYU College of Dentistry, where she discovered her passion for endodontics. During dental school, she was recognized for her dedication and clinical excellence, receiving both the New York State Association of Endodontists Student Achievement Award and the Dr. Bernard E. Rudner Memorial Award.
She then completed a General Practice Residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where she gained extensive experience treating medically complex patients and providing comprehensive dental care in a hospital-based setting. This training strengthened her clinical skills while reinforcing her commitment to delivering attentive, patient-centered care.
Dr. Sobol returned to New York University to complete her specialty training in endodontics, receiving advanced education in both nonsurgical and microsurgical endodontic procedures. Her residency refined her clinical expertise and reinforced her belief that exceptional care combines technical precision with compassion and clear communication. She also served as Chief Resident during her residency, a role that reflected the confidence her faculty and peers placed in her clinical judgment and leadership.
Dedicated to creating a positive experience for every patient, Dr. Sobol strives to make each visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible. She values taking the time to listen to her patients, answer their questions, and ensure they feel confident throughout their treatment.
Outside the office, Dr. Sobol enjoys staying active through Pilates, exploring new destinations through travel, and discovering great restaurants with family and friends.
